Scar Revision

We specialize in scalp scars

Through scalp micropigmentation (SMP), we can artfully disguise all kinds of scalp scars from linear and FUE hair transplant scars to accident/surgical scars.  Where needed (when the scar is bumpy, raised or uneven), we can use microneedling to help scars lay flatter so that the final result will be even more undetectable.

We can help greatly improve the appearance of scars elsewhere on the body and face as well – from acne scarring to surgical scars on all parts of the body.  Scar camouflage will typically require 2-3 short treatment visits. Scars can be unpredictable and after the first treatment, we will wait a few weeks to assess how the pigment behaves in your particular scar tissue. The scar may reject pigment in more dense areas after the first treatment, which will dictate the course of treatment necessary on the subsequent visit(s) to ensure the desired result is achieved. We encourage you to book in for a complimentary consultation so that we can examine your scar and provide a customized recommendation.

Transplant Scar Camouflage

Many men and women are choosing to have linear hair transplants, and this procedure leaves behind a distinctive scar on the back of the head. A strip scar is what is acknowledged in the hair loss field as the particular scar that is created within the scalp from the harvest of the transplanted hair. The result of the healed scar can vary from virtually undetectable to raised and/or twisted scarring. Whether you choose to wear your hair short or long, we can drastically improve the appearance of linear transplant scars.

Scars from follicular unit extraction (FUE) transplants can be disguised even more successfully.  In FUE transplants, the hair being transplanted is harvested usually in a small, uniform pattern (rather than one long strip), so there are smaller, more distributed scars throughout the scalp – making it easier to hide them with SMP.

C-Section / Surgical Scars

If you have a fully healed scar that did not heal the way you hoped, we can help significantly improve its appearance.  We’ve had success helping c-section scars, breast implant scars and more improve in both colour and texture, helping it be substantially less noticeable with microneedling treatments.  By using multiple microscopic needles to penetrate the skin, we create a controlled wound which stimulates a wound-healing-cascade. In this process the needles create micro punctures that break up old collagen bundles and trigger a new healing process to smooth the appearance of the scar tissue.  We are not able to treat most burn scars or keloid scars.
